Relative

Written October 21, 2015. stargirl2791 is one of the people I've connected with the most here. We both have a thing for the stars, Spica in particular. Marie helped me to research blue giants and subgiants while I was writing my poem, "Hope Burns Blue" (which has been placed in storage in lieu of the publication of my book), and then she referenced it in one of her own poems, "A Blue Day Beckons." The phrase "Spica's sapphire shore" gets stuck in my head a lot, and it struck me at 2:30 in the morning, when I should be finishing up with the editing of a chapter for a client, that I could write a fun Melmarie micropoem. So, that's what I did.
